You spend a whole lesson proving your knowledge of a topic by taking a test and then have to wait until your teacher has marked the papers before finding out whether the revision paid off. Then you go online, either during a lesson or at home, complete the test and receive an instant result. The computer will display your score and explain how that relates to the class average.
